THE HAVSense SYSTEM
A Common-Sense Approach to Hand Arm Vibration
HAVSco Limited created a concept for the HAVSense Hand Arm Vibration measurement system and converted it into a product in 2005. This was when the EU was developing the ‘Physical Agents’ Directive’. This Directive included vibration as a potential health hazard that needs to be ‘controlled’.
HAVSco developed the first personal Hand Arm Vibration dosimeter, which determines, measures, and records the actual vibration exposure at the point where the vibrations enter the hand. Worn under the glove on either hand, the HAVSense dosimeters provide accurate vibration exposure data from any source of vibration. This means no reliance on inconsistent manufacturer’s data, or theoretical data from external sources.
Irrespective of which tools are used, how they are used or what they are used for, the HAVSense dosimeter measures the exposure negating any programming or re-programming when changing between tools, processes, and tasks. It records continuous activities for up to 12 hours.
Therefore, no guesswork, calculations, or time recording, just simple HAV exposure data.
This facilitates a more proactive approach to managing HAV and assisting to augment the stringent health and safety requirements that companies face. With no requirement for continual monitoring, a limited number of dosimeters will often cover an entire organisation’s requirements.
The HAVSense system comes with licence free software which allows unlimited users to use the system. This includes software updates as well - all with no annual update fee.
