DSE Regulations
The HSE states that: “As an employer, you must protect your workers from the health risks of working with display screen equipment (DSE), such as PCs, laptops, tablets and smartphones.
The Health and Safety (Display Screen Equipment) Regulations 1992 apply to workers who use DSE daily, for an hour or more at a time.”
Using a screen for a long period of time can lead to all sorts of health issues.
The importance of DSE Regulations Assessment
Incorrect use of DSE or poorly designed workstations or work environments can lead to pain in necks, shoulders, backs, arms, wrists and hands as well as fatigue and eye strain. This could lead to lots of employee absence or poor staff morale, which could cost your business significantly.
Ensuring that you have a system in place to comply to DSE regulations will ensure that health risks are kept to a minimum.
