C&G Initial and Periodic Electrical Inspection and Testing (2391)

This course, run at our satellite site, Humber Electrical Training, is for candidates who have previous training and experience of inspection and testing within the electrical industry. You should have experience of single phase and 3 phase systems and have some familiarity with completing certifications and/or reports.

lthough it is not an entry requirement, we strongly recommend candidates to have achieved C&G L3 Award in Requirements for Electrical Installations (2382-22) prior to sitting this course.

Course contents:
The course will cover the current requirements of BS 7671 relating to inspection and testing techniques as given in IET Guidance Note 3. It covers methods of inspection and testing all types of installations as set out by BS 7671 and how to complete the required certification and reports to a professional standard.

The course will cover the following key areas:
• Requirements of Electricity at Work Regulations
• Requirements for safe isolation
• Requirements for initial verification of electrical installations
• Requirements for periodic inspection and testing
• Safe testing and commissioning of electrical installations
• Requirements for testing before circuits are energised
• Requirements for testing energised installations
• Interpretation of test results
• Commissioning electrotechnical systems and equipment
•Documentation, certification and reporting
